With the festivities of Christmas over for another year, the month of January is typically a time when many of us can feel quite gloomy and depressed.
The long and dark winter nights as well as the bleak weather are big contributors to this feeling, as well as the fact that all the glitter and sparkle of Christmas has worn off and the feeling of getting back to normal life can be a bit daunting.
As well as this, as we come into 2021, we also have the Covid pandemic to contend with, meaning that many of the ways that we may usually find respite in the dark months of January may not be available to us.
If you are struggling to manage the January blues this year, here are a few things that you can do that may be a help…
Treat yourself to something you like – Whether it is a new hot chocolate flavour, some Superdry menswear from EJ Menswear or simply a long soak in a hot bath, treating yourself to things is a good way to care for yourself during these difficult times.
Go for a Walk – Although the weather isn’t exactly tropical, a good walk whilst wrapped up warm is a good way to get your heat working and also a great way to boost your mood. Get out and explore the local countryside in your area, it has a really positive effect on your mood and will help you to feel more relaxed.
