When we lose someone it falls upon us to select a fitting memorial to them. For the most part this is the placing of a headstone in a cemetery or graveyard. This is a big responsibility as this will be the place that family and friends will return to down through the years to pay their respects. Abbey Memorials provide great prices for headstones and they can help you pick out one that best suits the needs that you are trying to fill.

Perhaps the person that has passed left you with some idea or even instructions as to what they wanted. Maybe there was a phrase or saying they might have liked. Did they want a nickname included as well as their full name? These things start to define the size of the headstone that you are going to need to use. Another thing to consider is if other loved ones are to be added to the plot at a later date.

For the most part a slab design is needed. However there are other designs such as incorporating a traditional or Celtic cross. This does not give you much space to write with and it might only be suitable for a sole occupancy plot. With the slab there are still ways to embellish the stone. Most modern headstones have rounded edges or even certain affectations can be applied to make them look more fitting and attractive.
