Keep an Eye on your Car – What you can do to Prevent Car Theft

With most of the country on lockdown, it is no surprise that home break ins and shoplifting crimes are at a low level. But what about car theft? Whilst people are not using their cars as much, this is an ideal time for thieves to target cars. So, what can you do to ensure yours is safe and secure?

If you have a garage use it! It might sound obvious, but many people who have garages do not actually store their car in them when it is not in use. A garage is a huge way to prevent car thefts as thieves not only have to break into a garage they have to break into a car – and when time is of the essence, they will look for an easier target.

It is all too easy to pop into the house quickly whilst leaving the engine running and keys in the ignition – don’t! No matter how safe you feel it is, to an opportunistic car thief this is the perfect situation which will enable them to make a quick getaway. Always lock your car doors, no matter how quick you think you will be.

Invest in a Ghost Immobiliser – One of the best ways to secure your vehicle is with a ghost immobiliser. Because it is not visible, thieves will not know where to find it, and it will render the car completely immobile – useless to a thief! It also protects you from key cloning, so you can rest assured that your car is safe.
