How do you build a brand for a team of Superheroes? This is one of the central issues in the smash hit Amazon Prime show “the Boys”. Set in a present where Superheroes are commonplace “the 7” are the elite team here to protect us.The characters of the seven are a nod to DC’s Justice league. There is Homelander, a quasi-Superman, Queen Maeve, an indestructible Amazon like Wonder Woman, Black Noir is a silent assassin (so basically Batman), The Deep is the equivalent of Aquaman. A-Train is a The Flash rip off whereas Translucent is the invisible man. The new girl to join is Starlight who is able to channel electricity.

All Of them are treated like a business by Vought International. the company that secretly created them by giving them all a medical compound when they were babies. All of their missions and appearances are carefully stage managed. If they object they are told “we hear you and we love you for it but we think you need to go in this direction”.

Problems arise when they start to display human emotions and problems. For example, Homelander has exactly the same powers as Superman but without the moral grounding and Vought they have their work cut out. It’s something that a Brand Strategy Agency like https://www.reallyhelpfulmarketing.co.uk/marketing-and-strategic-development-services/brand-strategy-agency would have no problem with whatsoever.
